How Pakistani Brands Are Using Meme Marketing

Both international and local brands tapping into the market are using social media for all their marketing purposes. The first brand, in particular, is a local food business named Jani Biryani. This brand in particular tapped into the local mindset as their cuisine was cultural. Based on that, they used viral meme templates but the consistent theme was just local Lahori culture.

Another brand that quickly went viral after curating hilarious reels centered around their products was Crumble. They began to post cat memes, coming up with bizarre scenarios such as a wife-cat being upset over a husband-cat not getting her some Crumble cookies.

Though Spotify is not local, to make a name for themselves in Pakistan, they too have been targeting consumers through meme marketing. Spotify has posted multiple pieces of content where they have linked songs with memes which makes it a clever way to market songs, as well as their platform.

Memes have become an essential part of social media. From mindlessly scrolling through them to sharing relatable ones with your friends and family, it’s most of what one does during their screen time. Using them as marketing is an excellent strategy that builds a bond between the brand and its customers.
