Ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025, Mohsin Naqvi, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), provided a significant update on cricketer Saim Ayub.

Mohsin Naqvi, speaking in Houston to the reporters during his US visit, stated he is in contact with the batter’s medical staff and confirmed that PCB is committed to not hastening the young cricketer’s recovery process. The PCB chief confirmed, “We cannot put Saim Ayubโ€™s career at risk for the Champions Trophy,”

While providing assurance about the left-handed batterโ€™s recovery, Naqvi added, “The plaster on Saim Ayub’s foot will be removed in a couple of days as he is undergoing rehabilitation.”

It is worth mentioning that Saim Ayub is currently in the UK for his rehabilitation following an ankle injury. The batter sustained a right ankle fracture on the opening day of the second cricket test while fielding against South Africa at Newlands.
