The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the replacement of Wahab Riaz as part of the new management team ahead of the Test series against Bangladesh. The PCB brought back a veteran team manager, citing concerns over team discipline.
Wahab Riaz Replacement
Wahab Riaz, who was serving as the senior team manager was sacked following reports of poor discipline and a negative dressing room environment during the T20 World Cup 2024.
To restore order, the PCB has brought back Naveed Akram Cheema as the sole team manager. Cheema, known for his strict approach to discipline, previously managed the team during the Australia and New Zealand tours earlier this year.

New Team Management
The reshuffled team management also includes some familiar faces. Head coach Jason Gillespie continues in his role, with Azhar Mahmood serving as his assistant.
Drikus Saaimon will oversee the Strength and Conditioning of the team. Meanwhile Tim Neilsen has been appointed as the High-Performance coach. Cliffe Deacon remains as the team physio, with Talha Butt handling the analytical aspects.
The management lineup is rounded out by Irtiza Kumail, who will ensure security measures are in place, and Nazeer Ahmed, who will manage media relations.

Series Against Bangladesh
Pakistan is gearing up to face Bangladesh in the Test series as part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25. The first Test will kick off in Rawalpindi from August 21 to 25, followed by the second Test in Karachi from August 30.
With a revamped management team in place, the Pakistan squad is eager to put the recent past behind them and focus on securing victories against Bangladesh.
