From its start, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has provided excellent entertainment for cricket lovers. Every season, the league gathers some of the top players from across the world to participate in an exciting show of cricket. The rivalry between various clubs, notably between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United, is one of the most entertaining features of the competition.
Cricket fans anticipate the banter between these two squads with bated breath. Be it on social media or on the field, both clubs’ players and supporters never miss an opportunity to poke fun at each other. This two clubs’ rivalry has only gotten stronger over time, and it is currently one of the most talked-about rivalries in the PSL.
Islamabad United diss game going strongÂ
Shadab Khan of Islamabad United can be seen taking a shot at Peshawar Zalmi in a recent Foodpanda promo. Shadab is shown in the advertisement clutching a Foodpanda bag and peering into it. The caption says, “Peshawari Chapli Kebab,” which are well-known in Pakistan, but it also takes a subtle jab at their opponent, Peshawar Zalmi, whom they were set to meet later. In other words, the dig was intended to convey to Zalmi fans that the Uniteds are prepared to devour their competitor for a snack in the next encounter.
The advertising clearly demonstrates the two teams’ strong rivalry. It also emphasizes the need of having a strong team spirit and fan support. As the PSL heats up, supporters of both sides can expect exciting matches and unforgettable moments.
Peshawar Zalmi catching up
However, Peshawar Zalmi were not far behind in adding spice to the already highly-anticipated match. Muhammed Harris and Liam L Stone of Peshawar Zalmi have made news on social media when a photo of them carrying McDonald’s burgers leaked online. The photo, which was shared on the Peshawar Zalmi’s Facebook page, depicted the two players clutching burgers and posing for the camera.
The image was posted in reaction to a social media post by Islamabad United, which poked het Zalmi squad. The Peshawar Zalmi team intended to demonstrate that they, too, were prepared for a nail-biting game and were certain of an easy victory in the forthcoming encounter.
Regardless of how people respond to the image, it is apparent that both sides were preparing for their next battle with vigor. While spectators and fans enjoy the game on and off the field, it’s vital to remember that nice banter and genuine sportsmanship may make the festival even more enjoyable.
