An increase of 81 Paisa per litre in petrol prices and a decrease of Rs3.94 per litre in diesel prices have been proposed for the upcoming fortnight starting December 16, 2024. Petrol prices are expected to rise to Rs252.92 per litre, while diesel prices are projected to drop to Rs254.53 per litre. These adjustments are based on price trends observed during the first 12 days of the current fortnight, They are influenced by international market volatility following a regime change in Syria. Officials believe that if stability returns to Syria soon, further reductions in petroleum prices could be possible.

In the earlier revision starting December 1, petrol prices had risen by Rs3.72 per litre, making the new price Rs252.10 per litre. Diesel prices have also increased by Rs3.29 per litre, reaching Rs258.43. Moreover, kerosene became cheaper by 62 Paisa per litre, while light diesel saw a drop of 48 Paisa per litre.
