On Monday, in a dramatic air crash, a Delta Air jet carrying 80 passengers flipped upside down as it landed at Toronto airport, leaving 18 people injured, of which three are critical.
All 80 passengers on the Delta flight from Minnesota were successfully evacuated as firefighters doused the plane. The police reported that the circumstances surrounding the crash are still unknown.
Airport CEO Deborah Fint credited the first responders’ response for ensuring no lives were lost. However, she added that two runways will remain closed for the next few days to continue the investigation into the cause of the crash.

Following the flip, a fire was ignited in fuel cells located in the wings, reported CNN aviation analyst and former National Transportation Safety Board managing director.
Flint also reported that the injured were taken to area hospitals by air ambulance helicopter and two critical care land ambulances.
Peter Carlson, a passenger on the aeroplane, shared in an exclusive interview with CBC News that the landing was “forceful.”
“The next thing I know, there was kind of a blink, I was upside down and still strapped in,” he added.
