Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan made Ali Zafar an ambassador of the First Knowledge City in Pakistan.
Pakistan has several higher education institutes. The programs available at these institutes are beginning to offer variety, and they are not just related to Engineering and Medical but also arts, architecture, history, and much more. However, such institutes are available in the main cities of Pakistan. And hence, this remains inaccessible to the residents of remote areas of Pakistan.
Namal Knowledge City
To end the marginalization of these communities, PM Imran Khan intended for a center of academic excellence, which he would call a knowledge city. During the groundbreaking ceremony of phase 1 of Namal knowledge city, PM said that the project would make quality higher education affordable for the talented youth. And such a step is essential for the country because quality education makes a society more tolerant and progressive.
In this ceremony, the Prime Minister was informed about the immediate results once the first phase is completed. According to those stats, the knowledge city will benefit more than 10,000 youth after the first phase. And more importantly, the project will be environmentally friendly. PM’s goal was to have an international standard institute, the inspiration of which came from his alma mater, Oxford. And so he thanked all the sponsors for donating millions of dollars for the cause.
During that ceremony, he announced Ali Zafar’s ambassadorship.
Ali Zafar as Knowledge City as ambassador
Ali Zafar, the renowned singer, and actor has not only worked extensively in Pakistan but also has made a name for himself in the neighboring country. He has been appointed as the ambassador.
He said in a tweet:
“Honoured to be nominated ambassador to the first & biggest knowledge city in Pakistan “Namal Knowledge City” envisioned by the honorable Prime Minister @ImranKhanPTI designed by @tonyashai. Knowledge is key for the development of a country and its people.”

The project worked for quite some time, considering PM Imran had talked about it in 2005. The vision was of a knowledge city that houses a variety of departments located in a scenic place. The knowledge city would spread for miles with a lake on one side, Salt range on another, a road that can take one to Islamabad or Indus highway and remote areas.
Let’s just say that Ali Zafar is ending the year with more positive news; he won the harassment case, and he became the knowledge city’s ambassador.
