Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered a third-party audit of the Ramadan Relief Package 2025 to ensure transparency in fund distribution. This decision was made during a review meeting, where officials briefed him on the package’s progress.
Officials reported that 63% of eligible recipients have already received financial assistance. They assured the prime minister that proper documentation was available for all disbursements. To oversee the programme, officials assigned specific duties to 2,224 employees. Additionally, they have contacted more than 1.5 million beneficiaries by phone to assist them in accessing their funds.
Shehbaz reaffirmed that the relief package applies to all regions in Pakistan, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, without discrimination. He praised the State Bank of Pakistan, NADRA and technology firms for developing a secure digital wallet system for Ramadan Relief Package distribution. He directed authorities to implement this model for any future government welfare programmes.

The prime minister also instructed telecom companies and banks to improve their public awareness campaigns. He asked them to submit a detailed report on their efforts to ensure people fully understand how to access their relief funds.
During the meeting, the PM emphasised the importance of efficiency and fairness in the distribution process of the Ramadan Relief Package. He stressed that no deserving citizen should be left behind. He urged officials to remain vigilant and ensure that funds reach the intended beneficiaries without delays or misuse.
Senior government officials attended the meeting. Representatives from NADRA, PTA, and private sector partners involved in the programme were also present.
The prime minister concluded by stating that the government commits to ensuring transparency and fairness in all welfare initiatives.
