PSL 8 2023 Supernova Trophy

The 24-karat Supernova Trophy, as it will be known, was crafted in Pakistan and serves as a testament to the nation’s skilled artisans and the Pakistan Cricket Board’s commitment to helping out regional companies. The national cricket team’s motto is “Unity, Passion, and Strength,” and the three pillars of the trophy are each adorned with 9,907 sparkling zircon stones to symbolize this. The main pillar at the back is further adorned with crystals to symbolize the commitment and effort required to ensure the team’s success.

Here are some fans’ reactions to the new trophy.

The PSL 8 opening ceremony will take place in Multan on February 13 before the tournament’s first match between the defending champions Lahore Qalandars and the 2021 champion Multan Sultans; the closing ceremony and final will take place on March 19 in Lahore, which will also host play-offs.

The PSL 8 will be split into two legs, with matches taking place at Multan Cricket Stadium and Karachi’s National Bank Cricket Arena from February 13 to February 26. From February 26 to March 19, the action will move to Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium and Rawalpindi’s Pindi Cricket Stadium. On March 15โ€“19, the Qualifier, two Eliminators, and the Final will all take place in Lahore.

Lahore Qalandars will try to become the first team to win consecutive championships, while Islamabad United will try to make history by winning the trophy three times. No other team, outside Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans, has advanced to the championship game as the defending champions. Eleven games will be played in Rawalpindi, nine games each in Karachi and Lahore, and five games in Multan.
