Rain and Snowfall Hit Parts of Pakistan

Several parts of the country are experiencing rain and snowfall, intensifying the cold and disrupting traffic in many areas.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted more rain and snowfall in Murree and other regions over the next 24 hours.

Heavy rain and snowfall have hit Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B), Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), Punjab and upper Sindh.

In Azad Kashmirโ€™s Leepa Valley, a glacier collapse blocked the Leepa-Reshian Road, stranding two vehicles. The passengers included two women, a child and six men. Pakistan Army rescue teams are currently working to evacuate them.

The PMD has forecasted strong winds, thunderstorms, and rain across Kashmir, G-B, K-P, northeastern Punjab and the Potohar region. Light snowfall is expected in high-altitude areas.

Northern Balochistan may see gusty winds and isolated rain showers. Islamabad and nearby areas are likely to have partly cloudy conditions, with light rain and thunderstorms in the morning.

In K-P, Kohistan, Shangla, Mansehra, and Abbottabad are expected to receive early morning rain and snowfall.
