Ramadan Moon Not Sighted in Pakistan, First Roza to be on March 2

The Ramadan moon was not sighted anywhere in Pakistan, as a result, the first fast (roza) will be observed on Sunday, March 2.

Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad presided over the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which met in Peshawar on Friday. The committee announced that the moon had not been observed in the nation at a news conference following the meeting.

Various zonal committees for moon sighting also held meetings across the country, however, no reports of moon sightings were received from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad or Quetta.

Based on studies of the moon’s visibility, the Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) had previously forecast that Ramadan would probably start after Saturday evening.
