In a recent interview, Resham opened up about her early life, revealing that she hails from Faisalabad. Due to certain circumstances, she and her family shifted to Lahore. Resham shared that her family was quite conservative and never wanted her to pursue a career in acting or achieve fame. Despite this, she was determined to follow her passion. With the support of her brother, she decided to give an audition at PTV. Her first appearance on television was modest; she worked as a helper and shot four different short scenes for that role.

Speaking about her identity, Resham disclosed that her real name is Saima. When she secured her first lead role, her name needed to be registered officially. It was her sister who, after pondering for a day, suggested the name Resham. Since then, she has been known by this name, which has become synonymous with her illustrious career.
