Mariyam Nafees On Gender Equality

During her exclusive interview with Adnan Faisal, Mariyam shared that a son coming into a family is always considered a personal blessing from God. After which they are treated very differently compared to the women in the house.

Mariyam Nafees brought up a very important topic. Rules and regulations, especially curfew. Where girls are expected to be back home by evening, boys often only wake up at that time. They then go out and stay out till a much later time. If the women of the house must be back by evening, so should the boys. Mariyam made that abundantly clear.

She said,” Apply the same rules on your son as you do on your daughter to ensure a safer society,”

During unsafe times like these, Mariyam’s words serve as an important reminder that a safer society starts from your own home. If you wish that the streets are safe for women in society, raise your son better. Instead of asking your daughter to be back home before the sun sets.
