‘Running Man’ Statue to Be Installed at Gaddafi Stadium

A monumental 25-foot high, two-ton iron statue of a ‘running man’ is set to be installed at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. The Punjab Government has commissioned this striking sculpture as part of the stadium’s renovation efforts.

The statue of a sprinting cricketer will be installed near the Nishtar Park Sports Complex, complete with illumination. It was finished in just 18 days and is set to be a major attraction.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finalised the schedule for the Champions Trophy’s opening ceremony and promotional events. The first event will be held at Gaddafi Stadium on February 7, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as the expected chief guest. Another event at National Bank Stadium, Karachi, on February 11 will see President Asif Ali Zardari in attendance.

The grand opening ceremony is scheduled for February 16 at Hazoori Bagh, Lahore, where top government officials, legendary cricketers and ICC representatives will mark the beginning of the highly anticipated eight-team tournament. The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 will take place in Pakistan from February 19 to March 9, 2025.
