Shagufta’s Crazy Fan Moment
Shagufta Ejaz shared how one of her craziest fans had trapped her once. She started the conversation saying how a young woman, who was not only being polite but also well-cultured, quite well-spoken as well, sent me a gift. She added, ‘It was my birthday, and the fan wanted to make sure she sent me something.’ This is a rather bold move even though Shagufta declines politely, pointing out that a birthday wish was enough.
Shagufta said she couldn’t recall if the fan had sent the gift or not. However, the strange part of the story was that she received the gifts on a regular basis, regardless of her location -whether she was in Lahore, Islamabad, or any other part of Pakistan. At first, such actions also pleased her, because it’s always nice when someone pays attention and cares for one. However, this changed as time went by and receiving gifts on a daily basis made Shagufta feel uncomfortable and unpleasant.

Expensive Gift
Following the discomfort, she had received ten missed calls on her phone from that particular gift-giving lady. She thought it was another plan or a ploy to get close to her and refused to answer the phone. When she could bear it no longer, she responded only to be informed that a luxurious gift has been sent to her in the form of gold bangles. Shagufta never felt okay, using these expensive gifts. So, she finally told the courier to take it back. The fan never got a chance to meet Shagufta in person and after that little fiasco, she completely disappeared.
Even more absurd were the efforts made by the fan for extending this friendship. She said she wanted to see Shagufta’s children and even said that she would embrace Islam only for Shagufta. The conversion to Islam felt more like a ritual and love for Shagufta rather than the desire to embrace the religion. This entire scenario, began to take more peculiar twists and turns especially when Shagufta began to observe some change in her behaviour as a result of the over powering influence of the fan.
An Unexpected Twist
The situation became worse when Shagufta’s fan called her mother to complain on being ignored. As one can imagine the arguments did ensue and after a lot of arguing, Shagufta was able to take the call. The same fan called Shagufta on the phone and told her that I have made another friend. While Shagufta was being curious, the fan told her, it’s your sister Roohi. Shagufta was shocked to know that her sister said that the fan had been granted a visa to Muscat and had relocated there.

It became even more weirder and mysterious when Shagufta’s sister came to know that she had felt needles and cloth pieces under her pillow. These items gave indications that there might be use of black magic and this made the situation even worse. Shagufta also stated that she gets scared by that incident and that is something she does not like to remember.
