Earlier, the team of ‘Ishrat Made In China’ was stranded in Thailand and couldn’t make it back to Pakistan before the lockdown was announced. However, the team was finally able to come back to their homeland on the 14th of April. But even when they’re back to Pakistan, they haven’t been able to go back to their home despite being tested clear of coronavirus.
Sanam Saeed and Shamoon Abbasi were also among the team members who made it back to Pakistan, however, they landed in Islamabad and not Karachi.
Here’s what Sanam had shared
“Thank you to all those who made every effort in every way possible to get us and the many other Pakistanis stranded in thailand on this flight today. Pray we all reach safely in good health and spirit. To anyone else still stranded in other places be patient, stay postive. Help is on the way. Friends, family, colleagues, the government, the media, officials, the army, organizations, unions, and many more are doing their best to get everyone home safely. Will try to update everyone on the process so that other traveller’s are less anxious and prepared. Allah kay supurd.”
That wasn’t all. Sanam further shared details of her stay at the hotel and shared a series of her tweets where she stated all the horrifying details on a daily basis of what happened when she reached Pakistan. Sanam pretty much shared all the details of what she had experienced at Hotel Ramada.
Here we go!
Updates after landing 14th night.
– exit plane in an organized fashion.
– Walk through thermal screening. Get luggage. -Wait in line to board a buss going where?
– Oh hotel Ramada. It's decent. Get disinfected with a spray machine and check in.
– test next day. So far so good.— Sanam Saeed (@sanammodysaeed) April 16, 2020
– Hotel staff in protective suits checked us in one by one. Long but safe process.
– Appointed officials in suits patrol the corridors to ensure everyone stays in.
– Food is brought to the doors at PKR 1000 per meal.
– Not tested yet. Been told to wait another 6 days suddenly.— Sanam Saeed (@sanammodysaeed) April 16, 2020
Day 2/3
– feeling very suffocated in a windowless room. Fresh air is necessary to purify the atmosphere and body.
– Suddenly, asked to pay upfront for the week last night or be packed off to Hajji Camp by 10pm till tested.
– Travellers were not prepared for these surprises.— Sanam Saeed (@sanammodysaeed) April 16, 2020
Misinformed
– Travelers already stressed, nervous & financially exhausted after managing 2 weeks of lockdown abroad.
– PIA ticket back cost 111k each.
– Embassy assured people upon arrival the Govt will accommodate us free of cost while we wait 2 days for test & results.— Sanam Saeed (@sanammodysaeed) April 16, 2020
Over all
– We understand the Govt is doing their best to manage the sitaution. But..
– Stranded travelers need be better informed of what to expect.
– Embassy must clearly state stay options and costs.
– People need to be mentally, physically and financially prepared.— Sanam Saeed (@sanammodysaeed) April 16, 2020
A message
– the Govt needs us to do our part and follow instructions strictly.
– Deviant behavior causes the next batch trouble. Don't be selfish.
– @ndmapk@PTIofficial please ensure that appointmented officials provide better, accurate information instead of giving false hopes.— Sanam Saeed (@sanammodysaeed) April 16, 2020
Ps: we are not in Karachi yet. Plane landed in Islamabad as it is the only airport with thermal screening units installed so far. Not complaining just informing.

Shamoon Abbasi also shared his two cents on his respective social media accounts and appealed to the government to help them in this regard
