Shreyas Iyer has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for March 2025. He won this award after playing an important role in helping India win the ICC Champions Trophy. Iyer was chosen over New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy and Rachin Ravindra, who were also in the running for the award.
This marks another proud moment for India, as Shubman Gill had won the same award for February 2025. Now, Iyer continues that success by being recognised for his strong performance in March.
Iyer scored the most runs in the Champions Trophy, with 243 runs in total. His batting is what helped India win the title. One of his best innings came against New Zealand in the Group A match, where he scored 79 runs, which aided India win an important game. He also played well in the semi-final and the final.

In the semi-final match against Australia, Iyer scored 45 runs off 62 balls as India chased the target successfully. In the final against New Zealand, he made 48 runs from 62 balls, keeping India’s innings steady and leading the team to another ICC trophy.
Over three Champions Trophy matches in March, Iyer had an average of 57.33 and a strike rate of 77.47. His ability to stay calm and hold the innings together during high-pressure games stood out.
