Sindh Food Authority District South led an inspection at the renowned hotel, Regent Plaza and found the food quality below health and safety standards.
Cockroaches, lack of standard safety tools, unsanitary condition, rotten vegetables, expired products, cheap food ingredients, forbidden food chemicals were found in the restaurant’s kitchen.
Sindh Food Authority imposed a fine of Rs 500,000 on the hotel and has given month’s period to become compliant to the safety and health standards. All rotten vegetables and expired products were dumped on the spot.

This is not the first time an eatery has been charged for not being up to standards.
However, it is good to see relevant authorities doing their job and taking action against places that can seriously be harmful to the consumers’ health.
