The Sindh government has extended a final offer to the Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) to relocate their protests to designated areas or face further action. The protests, ongoing for nine days, stem from grievances over the Parachinar crisis. Clashes erupted at the Numaish sit-in when police used tear gas and baton charges to disperse protesters, leading to the torching of vehicles and property.
Sindh Home Minister Zia Lanjar, speaking alongside IGP Ghulam Nabi Memon, reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining public order and minimising disruption caused by road closures. The minister noted that the Sindh government had repeatedly negotiated with MWM leaders, offering alternative protest venues, but these proposals were rejected.

Currently, protests by MWM and Sunnat wal Jamaat (ASWJ) demonstrators have caused significant road blockages at multiple locations across Karachi, including Numaish, Abbas Town, and Shahrae Pakistan. Traffic disruptions have added to public inconvenience, prompting further police intervention.
Nineteen protesters have been detained, and FIRs have been lodged under the Anti-Terrorism Act and other charges. While a death has been reported amid the clashes, its connection to the protests remains under investigation.
