The Sindh Education Department has launched a monitoring dashboard to track real-time progress on the rehabilitation of schools across the province.
To ensure transparency and efficiency in school rebuilding efforts, particularly for flood-affected schools, this initiative has started.
At a development conference on rebuilding flood-affected schools, the concerned officials stressed the need for resilient infrastructure and student training in flood risk management.
The rehabilitation of these affected schools was a key topic at this Conference on Flood-Affected Schools. It was organized by the Sindh Education Department in partnership with the Asian Development Bank.

After doing, government survey officials revealed that floods has damaged 19,808 schools in Sindh. Out of these, 7,503 were completely destroyed by this natural disaster. The rest 12,305 of them suffered partial damage, but leaving some structurally unsafe to even function with. The flood disaster led to disruption of education for 2,381,275 students.
Sindh’s government, along with donors and stakeholders has started rehabilitation projects. The first phase of the rehabilition projects will restore 26% of the affected schools, but 74% of them still need additional funding for reconstruction.
Education Department of Government of Sindh
The Education and Literacy Department is a key division of the Government of Sindh, Pakistan. It is responsible for overseeing the province’s education system. Their primary role is to manage educational affairs within Sindh and coordinate with the Federal Government and donor agencies to promote education for sindh students. The department supervises primary education while managing secondary education, technical education, incentive programs and various development initiatives for each sector.
On 6 October 2016, the Government of Sindh reorganised the Education and Literacy Department into two distinct entities: the College Education Department and the School Education Department, each of them led by its own Secretary.
