Netflix officially announced that the long-awaited final season of Squid Game will premiere on June 27, 2025. Netflix confirmed this during its Netflix event Next, featuring a teaser for another suspenseful episode of the survival thriller series.
The End of a Cultural Phenomenon
Since its debut in 2021, Squid Game has become one of Netflix’s most successful and influential original series. Created by Hwang Dong-hyuk, the show captivated global audiences with its gripping story of financially desperate individuals forced to participate in deadly children’s games for a massive cash prize. A Star-Studded Netflix Lineup
The platform also announced some of its major projects alongside Squid Game. Frankenstein is a long-overdue adaptation by acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro of Mary Shelley’s literary classic. Another one is the crime thriller RIP, co-starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.
On the comedy side, John Mulaney is launching a 12-week live late-night series, Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney, on March 12. Tina Fey is turning Alan Alda’s 1981 romantic comedy, The Four Seasons, into an eight-episode series starring Steve Carell and Will Forte.
