Update: After being bashed and hated for her insensitive and illogical comments on abusive relationships and domestic violence, Kanwal Aftab has now come out with a response video. The Tiktoker turned into an influencer who faced criticism for her statement from not just the public but also different celebrities. Many said that maybe she did not understand the term “domestic violence”, some even went as far as to call her crazy and deluded. You can also be the judge of this but have a look at the video first.
She defended herself by telling her audience to not support domestic violence but to support their husbands and try to make them better when they resort to violence. She even says to endure it at that time and once your husband cools down, go and talk to them about it. An earlier story further strengthens Kanwal’s ideologies where the woman always has to “wear the pants” in the relationship. Have a look.
Many celebrities started taking sides on Kanwal’s statement, some supported her for being the ideal partner and the rest bashed her for her problematic thinking. Mathira also reposted Kanwal’s response video on the story and told her to not justify her wrong thinking but instead to change it. She even said that women are not “Bob the Builder” and that they would have the responsibility to fix men.

Tikoker Kanwal Aftab recently said on her Instagram story that if a woman’s husband is abusive, she should still stay with him. As if that wasn’t enough, she also tells her audience to support such husbands and motivate them.
Now just for a second, let’s give her the benefit of the doubt, maybe she didn’t read it right but if she really did read it right and despite that, she’s giving this sort of advice to her followers, then we’ve got another problematic influencer who probably doesn’t have the right ideologies but is given a pass because they’re an influencer. Anyways, have a look at the Instagram story and the tweet that made it go viral.
Tiktoker Kanwal Aftab with 18.4 MILLION followers wants women to “support” and “motivate” husbands who abuse them. 🤡
Struggling to understand if that means cheering them on as they punch her? Or leaving a reminder to do it again when they’re done? 🤢 pic.twitter.com/zBr8zjW0kw

The Twitter user shared a screenshot of Kanwal’s story and even captioned it sarcastically by asking if women should start encouraging their husbands to hit them even more. Kanwal Aftab is a Tiktoker turned influencer but with almost 18.5 million followers on Instagram, it is crucial for her to think about what she speaks. Like someone once said, “With great responsibility comes great power.” So if she’s going to make such irrational statements about such sensitive topics she should be having a really good explanation. Here’s her explanation.
Women don’t get married to “fix” abusive men. Or to support and validate their violent behaviour. 😑 pic.twitter.com/cro43EDd84

Obviously, with a topic like this and a statement like this, fans are bound to respond. Here are some replies to the original tweets.
I wish more celebrities, tiktokers and influencers would have the sense to say "we don't have enough information or expertise to give you advice regarding this" rather than giving half baked advice on topics they clearly don't understand. What if that woman ends up being killed?

i think she doesn’t know what ‘violence’ means because there is literally no other explanation oh god

It’s insane how women have been brainwashed into believe the worst of and for themselves.

Why the “sahi karna” burden always fall on women in marriage. Men are grown up individuals! It’s high we need to understand, if a human doesn’t want to be corrected no one can! And there should be a boundary in marriage! And domestic violence is way far from that boundary line!

These have gained overnight fame by making third-tier & unfruitful content & I'm amazed as to how people are expecting a learned response from them. The other video doing rounds is of P4Pakao prankster Nadir who is questioning guests' faith. Says 'Allah hidayat dega' on her face.

Here’s the thing, when you’ve got a platform as big as this, you need to realize and think before you speak. In times when women’s rights, gender equality, and human rights are so talked about, statements like these really turn the whole narrative around. It basically acts as a slap across the face for women who have actually been victims of domestic abuse.
