In April, Lucid Air showcased their prototype called the Alpha Speed Car at the 2017 New York Auto Show.
The car showed its ability to speed to 217 mph at the Transportation Research Center track in Ohio.
The prototype successfully managed to match the speed of Ferrari LaFerrari! Recently, the company sent the car back to the track and the luxury sedan surpassed the speed with ease, passing the 217 mph mark. It went at a velocity of 235.44 miles at a 7.5-mile track.
“While it may be the top speed achievable on that day, with those conditions, and that this stage of development for the Alpha Speed Car, it is not the final production top speed of the Lucid Air,” -Lucid Ar Company Blog
The Alpha Speed Car features a roll cage, a large rear spoiler, and a parachute. After the first high-speed test in April, Lucid changed the software controlling the car’s self-leveling air suspension, made tweaks to the front electric motor, and added more aerodynamic wheels.
