Women today are more fashion savvy with access to styles and trends. They are in constant search for something different that will grab attention and hence always on the lookout for new fashion brands.
After all, ladies are crazy for a sartorial variety that breaks the clutter with their innovative designs and is breath of fresh air from the typical flora and fauna.
During my hunt for budding fashion houses and ateliers on Facebook, I stumbled upon a rising brand that piqued my interest -‘Meraki by Hafsa Jamal’
The label’s name hails from the Greek language and defines doing what you love with soul, creativity, or passion. All of these traits surely reflect in their designs.
Upon more research, I discovered that Meraki is a young luxury brand that is doing a pretty good job in fulfilling the sartorial needs of its target market. It entered the fashion sphere in 2017 and has since grown.
Being a fashion geek, its social media accounts had already enticed me. I was instantly compelled to visit their clothes at FP Lounge, Dolmen City, Clifton to check out the fabric and designs up close.
Meraki didn’t disappoint. From casual, semi-formal to formal wear, the brand offers it all for contemporary women.
This red-hot zardozi embroidery dress was love at first sight for me.
I was on the lookout for formal wear and was instantly drawn to their ensembles adorned with intricate embellishments. It’s just perfect to rock at a wedding party.
This coffee-colored top was another favorite!
The gold colored embroidery added just the right oomph to the outfit.
But guess what I ended up buying?
This ice-blue sequined beauty that won my heart.
Instantly loved the silvery sheen and beautiful cut that added the perfect amount of glam to my wardrobe. The same design was available in light purple.
The price of the formal range is between PKR 10,500 and PKR 30,000 depending on the complexity of the design.
Next, I checked out some designs from the casual wear section.
Boasting cool summery colours, strong aesthetics and great fabric quality, the clothes exhibited timeless cuts and funky fusion-wear. The price tag for casuals ranged from PKR 4500 to PKR 9000.
However, I found bridal ensembles amiss from the brand. Upon inquiry from the staff, it was revealed that Meraki will be rolling out their bridal line within a month.
The brand and its clothes indeed look promising. In a booming market for prêt, the brand has the potential to become a powerhouse in the future
