Militants attacked a police checkpost in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) Karak district during the early hours of Thursday, killing at least three police personnel and injuring six others, according to authorities.
The armed assailant with heavy weapons launched a barrage of fire at the checkpoint in the Bahadurkhel area. The dead were identified as Taimur, Hayat, Naqeeb and Adnan. The four injured were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Karak. However, three of the wounded were later transferred to Peshawar in critical condition.

According to the District Police Officer (DPO), the assailants fled the crime scene after police struck back.
Heavy police force immediately arrived at the scene, sealed off the area and launched a search operation to detain the perpetrators.
