Youth-popular Chinese application TikTok has announced that it will not allow paid political ads on the platform.
Reportedly, the app states that those ads do not fit in with the experience it wants to provide to its users.
The dubbing application is a social platform where creators create fun and engaging content related to the youth and brand campaigns around their interests.
In an official blog post, vice president of TikTok’s Global Business Solutions Blake Chandlee said:
We will not allow paid ads that promote or oppose a candidate, current leader, political party or group, or issue at the federal, state, or local level – including election-related ads, advocacy ads, or issue ads,
