Toyota has changed the game with their latest Prius 2019. The new model introduces the AWD-e system which is designed to provide more control and give more confidence to the drivers.
The Toyota Prius 2019 AWD-e is ready to deliver, as the tagline claims- ‘Let’s Go Places’. It boasts a number of features for both passengers and drivers.
The AWD-e Prius is only available in the LE and XLE trim levels.
Under the Hood
The Prius offers the same 1.8L 4-cylinder engine and two motor/ generators still power the front wheels.
The AWD-e electric motor helps to add extra traction when it’s needed, but it only powers the rear wheels up to 43 mph. The AWD-e system now makes the Prius one of the most efficient all-wheel drive cars with a 52 mpg city and 48 mpg highway rating.
Interior & Exterior
The SofTex-trimmed heated tilt/telescopic steering wheel features surface temperature-regulating properties to help make it feel more comfortable in hot or cold weather. The steering wheel also integrates switches for the Entune Audio system, Multi-Information Display, and Bluetooth hands-free phone controls.
It comes with a wide range of other features as well including:

The standard Entune Audio system for AWD-e models includes the Entune Multimedia Bundle: 6.1 in. touch-screen display, AM/FM CD player, 6 speakers, auxiliary audio jack, one USB 2.0 port with iPod connectivity and two 2.1-amp USB charge ports, advanced voice recognition, Bluetooth hands-free phone capability, phone book access and music streaming Siri Eyes Free, and an integrated backup camera display. The Limited grade comes standard with the Entune Premium JBL Audio with Integrated Navigation and App Suite, with a large 11.6″ HD multimedia display.
Price-Tag
The 2019 Toyota Prius AWD-e starts at $27,300 for the LE trim level, which is more or less $1,400 higher than the front-wheel-drive Prius LE. The Prius XLE AWD-e starts at $29,740, which is only $1,000 more than the FWD Prius XLE.
