Karachi Traffic Situation Due to ICC Champions Trophy

In the upcoming days, Karachi will host its third and final ICC Champions Trophy Match, between South Africa and England, on March 11. This, once again, means traffic jams citywide. To avoid hassle, Karachi traffic police have designed a plan to manage the anticipated influx of cricket fans and ensure a smooth travel flow, especially in areas near the National Bank Stadium.

Route Open for Traffic Flow

  • Sir Shah Suleman Road will remain open during the match days despite several roads being closed to heavy traffic.
  • Heavy traffic will be allowed to travel from Sohrab Goth to Nipa, Liaquatabad No.10 to Hassan Square and PP Chowrangi to University Road.ย 
  • Traffic access will be restricted from Karsaz to the Stadium, Millennium to New Town and Stadium Signal to Hassan Square.ย

To avoid the traffic situation in Karachi, authorities have advised fans and spectators to use the parking available at the National Coaching Centre, the Expo Centre and China Ground. Parking on the roads and service lanes is strictly prohibited.
