Trump Trolls Taylor Swift for Getting Booed at Super Bowl

US President Donald Trump took time off on Sunday to attend the Super Bowl LIX, where he took a dig and trolled pop star Taylor Swift online, once again stoking his feud with her.

The Super Bowl LIX, which took place at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, held the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. Pop superstar Taylor Swift attended the game to support her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. However, the pop star faced unexpected boos from Philadelphia Eagles fans during the first quarter when she appeared on the stadium’s Jumbotron. Initially puzzled by the crowd’s reaction, Swift soon realised the boos were directed at her. She responded with a side-eye and a slight nose wrinkle, a moment that quickly went viral on social media.

In contrast, President Donald Trump, also present at the game with his daughter Ivanka, seemingly claimed that he was cheered at the game while Swift was not. Trump received enthusiastic applause when shown on the big screen during the national anthem.

Following the game, Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to mock Swift’s reception. He made 3 posts including videos highlighting the contrasting reactions of the audience to him and Taylor.

Along with that, after the Philadelphia Eaglesโ€™ blowout victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, Trump also wrote on his social media platform, โ€œThe only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!โ€

Donald Trump’s Heated History with Swift

Trump’s latest attempt to ridicule Swift adds to their heated history. The US president has never shied away from expressing his dislike of the 35-year-old singe. He had openly admitted it many times on social media even writing on Truth Social, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” back in September 2024.

The tension between Trump and Swift dates back several years. In 2018, Swift, who had previously remained apolitical, began voicing her opinions. During the midterm elections, Swift openly opposed Trump and endorsed Democratic candidates. This move gained significant attention and marked the beginning of their public disagreements.

In the 2024 presidential race, Trump personally requested Swift not to endorse his opponent, Kamala Harris. Despite this, Swift supported Harris, further escalating tensions. Trump’s misconception that Swift endorsed him, due to AI-generated images, added fuel to their feud.

<p>The Super Bowl incident underscores the ongoing cultural and political tensions in the U.S., with public figures like Trump and Swift symbolising opposing viewpoints. As both continue to wield significant influence, their interactions remain a focal point in the broader discussion on politics and celebrity culture.
