As the world’s capitals expressed solidarity with Islamabad following the horrific attack on defenseless passengers, the United Nations led international condemnations of the terrorist attack on Jaffer Express in Balochistan.
UN Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric stated that UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for the quick release of the captives and has strongly denounced the hijacking of the Jaffar Express. “Attacks on civilians are unacceptable and the international community should take steps to prevent such incidents,” the secretary-general stated.
British Foreign Secretary David Lammy denounced the “terrorist attack in Balochistan” in a post on X. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones of those who have lost their lives,” he added.

Dr. Riina Kionka, the ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Pakistan, also denounced the terrorist act and offered her sympathies to the victims’ families. We send our sincere sympathies to the victims’ families. We ask for the prompt release of the hostages and convey our deep concern for them as the situation continues to develop,” she wrote on X.
Along with denouncing the terrorist act, China promised to keep up its strong support for Islamabad in its fight against terrorism, upholding social stability and solidarity.
