Ushna Shah, a well-known Pakistani actress, recently took to her Instagram to share a deeply personal aspect of her life. Known for her captivating roles and vibrant on-screen presence, Ushna revealed her struggle with a lesser-known condition called prosopagnosia, commonly known as face blindness. This revelation has shed light on the challenges she faces daily, both in her personal and professional life.
Brave Instagram Message Of Ushna
Recently, in one of the Instagram stories, Ushna Shah revealed her suffering from a neurological disorder, prosopagnosia.
She wrote: Before I begin, I’d like to inform everyone about a rather peculiar condition called prosopagnosia, or face blindness, as some refer to it. This has been worsening in my case over time, and sometimes I don’t even realize who the person is, even if we are in a familiar environment.
She explained further: ‘Only the other day something that was once a hilarious joke to me has become exasperating and the feeling must be mutual.’.
Spreading Awareness and Empathizing with Others
The actress also shared a heartfelt message for those who may cross paths with her in the future, both personally and professionally. She expressed her hope for understanding and empathy from those around her.
She said that it is not a lack of concern or even a lack of attention to detail but that she has trouble coming to grips with faces. Ushna concluded by stating that she is keen to see more people interact regarding prosopagnosia and therefore embrace the ailment.
She added, “Here is my message for those lucky people who have been stuck with me all these years and for those who will be stuck with me in the future. If there is ever an occasion in which something occurs, and I look at you but don’t acknowledge you. Please remember it’s because of this ailment and not because I don’t see value in you.”

Understanding and supporting them, Ushna appealed to everyone to follow their cases and support them by stating that she would not allow such states to remain secrets. Not only did she decide to speak about prosopagnosia as a part of her experience but, at the same time, raises the curtain behind which people with this condition experience difficulties every day.
