Usman Qadir, son of the legendary leg-spinner Abdul Qadir, has made a bold decision to leave Pakistan cricket behind and start a new chapter in Australia.

At 31, the talented leg-spinner has settled in New South Wales and is currently playing for the Hawkesbury Club in Sydney, hoping to revive his cricketing career in a land that once nurtured his skills.

A Fresh Start in Familiar Territory

Australia isnโ€™t uncharted territory for Usman. Before committing his international future to Pakistan in 2020, he spent years developing his craft in the Australian cricketing system.

Usmanโ€™s international career began with a bang in 2021. He debuted in a T20I series against Zimbabwe, taking eight wickets in three matches and earning the Player of the Series title.

For a time, he was Pakistanโ€™s first-choice leg-spinner, even keeping Shadab Khan out of the T20I playing XI. But as opportunities dwindled and challenges mounted, Usman made the tough call to step away and chart a new path.

The decision to move back to Australia isnโ€™t just about cricketโ€”itโ€™s about opportunity. Australia offers a platform for growth, and Usman is no stranger to its cricketing culture.

From playing in domestic leagues to representing the Prime Ministerโ€™s XI, Usman has built connections and gained valuable experience in the Australian cricket scene. Now, heโ€™s ready to leverage that foundation and explore where this journey takes him.
