Virat Kohli reached a rare milestone on Thursday during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match against the Rajasthan Royals. He scored 70 runs from 42 balls, hitting eight fours and two sixes. This strong innings made him the first cricketer to score 3,500 T20 runs at a single venue. He achieved this at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Kohli has now scored a total of 3,556 T20 runs at Chinnaswamy. He already held the record for most T20 runs at one ground, and this latest performance extended his lead. His form this season has been excellent, and this was his fifth half-century in IPL 2025.
Following Kohli on the list of most T20 runs at one venue is Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Rahim, who has 3,373 runs at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur. Next are England’s James Vince with 3,253 runs at the Rose Bowl and Alex Hales with 3,241 runs at Trent Bridge. Another Bangladeshi player, Tamim Iqbal, completes the top five with 3,238 runs, also at Mirpur.

Kohli’s consistent form has helped Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) stay competitive this season. He has scored 392 runs so far, making him the highest run-scorer for RCB and placing him second in the Orange Cap standings, which track the highest run-getters in the tournament.
He has also tied with Gujarat Titans’ Sai Sudharsan for the most half-centuries in this IPL season, with both players reaching fifty or more runs five times. Kohli continues to show why he is one of the best in the game, especially at home in Bengaluru, where he has built a remarkable record over the years.
Kohli’s form will be crucial as RCB looks to make a push in the later stages of IPL 2025.
