Karachi: Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center (JPMC) has achieved a significant milestone by successfully conducting its first-ever robotic surgery.
JPMC spokesperson Jahangir Durrani confirmed that a 34-year-old patient underwent the cutting-edge gallstone surgery with the aid of the latest robotic technology.
A highly-competent surgical team led by Dr. Saddam and Dr. Mansab carried out the procedure under the guidance of Jinnah Hospital’s Executive Director, Prof Dr. Shahid Rasool, completing it in a mere 25 minutes.
Robotic surgery is considered a minimally invasive and less painful alternative for lower abdomen procedures, offering patients the potential for quicker recovery.
The procedure was documented and shared on various platforms, including the microblogging platform X.
