Following the first five matches of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, Islamabad United have taken the lead, comfortably residing at the top of the PSL 10 point table. Two dominating victories, a sizzling batting order, and well-disciplined bowling have United in a position to be touted as early favourites for the championship.
United’s Statement Wins
The league started off with Islamabad overpowering defending champions Lahore Qalandars. Shadab Khan’s bowling attack kept Lahore at bay, while the top order chased down the score rather easily. They carried this momentum into the fifth game as well, where they annihilated Peshawar Zalmi. Sahibzada Farhan was the star with a dazzling century, while United’s bowlers saw to it that Zalmi never had a chance. With a net run rate of 3.248, United are undoubtedly a class apart — for the time being atleast.
Peshawar Zalmi Under Pressure
It’s been a nightmare start for Zalmi. First, they were humbled by Quetta Gladiators after conceding 216 runs and failing to cross even 140 in response. Then came the drubbing at the hands of Islamabad. With two heavy losses and no points on the board, the 2017 champions are in early crisis mode.

Karachi’s New Era, Multan’s Power Show
