The 20th of November is World Childrenโs Day, celebrated all over the globe, including in Pakistan. โFor Every Child, Every Right,โ is the theme of Universal Childrenโs Day 2024.
Primarily, today is a special day that reminds people around the world to honour and uphold childrenโs rights. The United Nations has sought to encourage collaboration, concern and promotion. It is pivotal to discuss childrenโs issues and the advancement of their rights. This day was officially established in 1954.

Prime Minister’s Commitment to Children’s Rights and Well-being
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif emphasised Pakistanโs steadfast dedication towards upholding the rights of children and working to ensure their well-being, growth and development.
In a message for World Childrenโs Day, the Prime Minister prompted parents, educators, members of society, and policymakers to come together and create a society where every child feels loved, protected, and valued. He observed that today serves as a reminder of societyโs duty to protect and fulfil the rights of all children without discrimination. Additionally, ensuring that every child has access to quality education, healthcare, and a safe environment. Regardless of their background, where they come from, what colour they are or their religion. He stressed that it is our responsibility to provide them with the resources they need to reach their full potential.
Parliament’s Role in Promoting Child Rights and Welfareย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย
Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq declared that the National Assembly has established the Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights (PCCR) to encourage and protect the rights of children throughout Pakistan. Moreover, he reiterated that encouraging child welfare, providing quality education, and promoting responsible parenting is crucial for national success. He added that World Childrenโs Day serves as a poignant reminder to foster a safe and supportive environment. The speaker added that children should be raised in a way where they are allowed to pursue their dreams and chase their aspirations.
Mothers and fathers, educators. The nurses and doctors for Pakistan community and religious figures, official leaders and social activists, media professionals, and children themselves can all help make World Childrenโs Day pertinent in their societies, communities, and nations.
